Summer Vacation

Summer break was so much fun and feels like it flew by.  Here are pictures from our various adventures!

Weekend trip to Colorado Springs.  We did the zoo, Cave of the Winds, hotel pool and the North Pole (small amusement park).  Nolan declared the North Pole better than Disney World and Legoland because there were no lines.  😉

We checked out a climbing gym in Thornton.  Even Wesley had fun despite his face in the next picture.

Nolan is behind the guy in the white shirt at the top of the wall.  He really loved this and worked so so hard climbing!

My dad took Nolan on a special adventure just the two of them.  They spent the night at the cabin and then backpacked 2 miles up to a campsite by a lake.  They camped overnight and then hiked back the next day.  Nolan carried his own pack all except about 1/4 mile and he absolutely had a blast, as you can see.

To celebrate Don’s retirement, we went to San Diego for 5 days.  The trip was easy, relaxing, fun and beautiful weather.  We did Legoland, spent a day at the beach, lots of pool time, kayaked on the bay and of course lots of pick up baseball games with cousins.  Everyone had so much fun.

Wesley was so happy to be able to do the roller coaster with the big kids.  🙂

Our family camped outside of lake Dillon.  It sometimes seems like a lot of set up and tear down work for a short trip, but the boys loved it.

This bald eagle swooped over the lake and landed about 25 feet from us.  Amazing.
